MAIN ELEMENTS OF REFORM

Employers get the opportunity to set the skills, knowledge and
behaviours needed
Employer-led Trailblazers designing and creating apprenticeships e.g. Police Officer,
Paramedic.
Providing a ‘shop window’.
Short, concise Apprenticeship Standardsthat are not schemes of study or curriculum
plans
Apprentices are signed off as fully competent at the end and
“job-ready”
All apprenticeships have synoptic end point assessment; grading.
Continuing to drive up the quality of apprenticeships
All apprenticeships must last a minimum 12 months but Higher and Degree
Apprenticeships will typically be anywhere from 2-4 years or more
Enabling intelligent customers & purchasers, getting the training
they want
Give employers greater control over funding

It’s a very competitive route:BT takes on 4000 Apprentices, many of which are digital, 10% are Higher & Degree BUT they had in excess of 60,000 applications!
Apprenticeships are GROWING!Nursing, Teacher, Dental Assistants aerospace, nuclear and civil engineering, digital, management and much more. You will be AMAZED!!

Work towards a qualification or degree Study in a specialist subject area

Work placements to be secured as part of study,where required
