Ask Customs at the port of entry where the closest CCPIT/CCOIC office is.

• Extension Beyond “Final Date of Re-exportation” (See Item 2 of Importation Counterfoil): • Chinese customs typically restrict ATA Carnet entries to six months. • Extension requests beyond six months must be submitted to Chinese customs at least 30 days prior to the “Final Date of Re-exportation” stamped on the Importation counterfoil. • Penalties may apply if this provision is not followed, for example if extension request is submitted fewer than 30 days from the “Final Date of Re-exportation”

• Vehicles Subject to Import Licenses: • Vehicles entering China for an exhibition or fair must be re-exported immediately, or obtain an import license issued by the Ministry of Commerce in China. • Used vehicles or right-rudder vehicles need to obtain approval before entry into China.

Mexico (MX)Mexican Customs authorities will restrict entry of all carnet entries to a maximum of six months. This period can be extended for a further six months, provided the request for such an extension is made before the expiry of the first six month period. We have been advised that Mexican Cus-toms will require a translation of the General List into Spanish.

To help combat counterfeit carnets, it will be necessary to register all carnets before entry into Mexico. To seek such approval, holders (or their representative) must complete a registration form, which presently resides at Canaco’s website (ATA System Registration). Holders will receive by return email approval (or denial) of the registration. Approvals will be entered in to MX Customs database. Such approval may take 2-3 days, so please have your holders plan accordingly.

If you are importing goods into Singapore on a Carnet, you should verify the “Final date for re-exportation/productions to the Customs of goods” found in box 2 of the importation counterfoil. This is the date by which the goods must be re-ex-ported. If more time is needed, the Carnet holder should make a request for an extension to Sin-gapore customs prior to that date at:
