Windy Hill on the Campus has an Endowment Fund with the York County Community Foundation (YCCF).
Heritage Funds with YCCF are established by nonprofit organizations, and your gift will forever be
used for the organization's well-being as determined by the Windy Hill Board. Visit www.yccf.org to see how
YCCF is helping to create a vibrant York County.
How to make a gift:
• Through a gift of money via check to the endowment fund
• Through your will, by specifically naming the endowment fund
• Through a life insurance policy, by naming the endowment fund as beneficiary
• By a gift of real estate to the endowment fund
• By transferring appreciated assets (stocks, bonds, etc.) to the endowment fund
• Through a charitable gift annuity which will pay you income for life
For those that are fortunate enough to be over age 70 ½, you may have required minimum distributions that
have to be withdrawn each year from IRA's and 401(k)'s. In lieu of taking the distribution, paying the taxes, and
contributing after-tax dollars, you can transfer IRA/401(k) dollars directly to the endowment fund and potentially
avoid the tax consequences to you (consult your tax advisor regarding how this applies to your specific situation).

This month's party is sponsored by
Darrell E. Sipe Opticians and Hearing Aids.
A representative will be on hand beginning
at 9:45 a.m. to answer questions.
· Falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries for older Americans.
· One-third of Americans 65+ falls each year. · Every 11 seconds, an older adult is treated in the
emergency room for a fall; every 19 seconds an older adult dies from a fall. (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
These are staggering statistics, and falls can be prevented. On Thursday, September 22, from 9-10 a.m. members of the Falls Free Coalition of York County will be present to provide free falls assessment screenings. It only takes a few minutes to find out if you are at risk for falls. Also, please sign up for our next Matter of Balance classes, which will begin on Monday, October 17, from 1-3 p.m. These classes will provide vital information and exercises to assist in reducing/eliminating falls. The class size is limited, so be sure to sign up early!
September 22 is Falls Prevention Awareness DayDid you know?
This year's theme is “Find Balance at Your Center.”
The balance found at Windy Hill allows members to
participate in programs that address overall
wellness. Programs that address fitness, learning,
purpose and friendship, which have been outlined
by the National Council on Aging, are all provided at
Windy Hill. Whether listening to a lecture on health
issues, taking a watercolor class, or just socializing
with friends, these activities allow for daily practice
of living a balanced life. These programs, in turn,
benefit overall well-being and has been proven to
provide quality of life and significant health benefits
for older adults. The Spring Grove and Hanover
communities are fortunate to have Windy Hill
provide quality programs and services at minimal to
no cost. Please invite a friend, neighbor or relative
to Windy Hill during the month of September.
Members who bring a guest, who becomes a
member, during the month of September will be
entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card.

September is National Senior Center Month!
