What is BTU?And why do I need to know about it?
BTU stands for British Thermal Unit
It is basically used as a measurement of how effectively a radiator can heat a room.
In the example on the left the person’s radiator is not
adequately heating his room. He is very cold
and reliant on additional heat sources.
In this example, the couples radiator is easily capable ofheating the room, enabling them to keep warm and comfortable.
The difference here is the BTU. The radiator from the first example only
has a BTU of 2,000.
Whilst the radiator from the 2nd example has a BTU of 4,400.
This radiator with a BTU of 4,4000 would heat an average living room of 5x5 metres.
