OpenSTAT is an open data platform powered by DKAN, an open source application, that allows the PSA to share data under an open data license where data can be freely used, re-used and redistributed by anyone without any restrictions other than a proper source attribution.

Through OpenSTAT, the PSA adopts a policy of Openness for all datasets created, collected, processed, and disseminated in adherence to the general principles of the global movement on open government data.
OpenSTAT’s main contribution is to provide official statistics (in Open data
format) for improved governance, that is, for greater transparency and freedom of
information in the Philippines.
OpenSTAT as a tool that can help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals
by providing critical information on natural resources, public services, food
security, social conditions and population demographics.
OpenSTAT can facilitate the use of standards, processes and policies to all
sectors.
Implementing OpenSTAT help strengthen the point of contact for coordination
with other sectors and for providing assistance to data users.

Convert all of its remaining datasets into open data format
Enhance the visualization tools, incorporate infographics, and provision of advance mapping capabilities through integrations with ArcGIS, Carto and other mapping software
Incorporate other open file formats to enhance data appreciation, e.g. KML for mapping
Provision of APIs to foster innovation from IT experts/entrepreneurs that can generate social and economic benefits.
Enjoin other government agencies to adhere to open data initiative
Develop standards, processes and requirements for use in all open data portal in the Philippines
Conduct capacity building programs, fora and seminars on the proper utilization of data
