Classroom Rules and Behavior System

• Rules: Generated together so students have ownership of the rules

• Behavior System:– Positive reinforcement number system– Behavior numbers will be recorded in

the GATOR binders

Classroom Behavior System

– #8, 9, 10 means your child had a good day

– Students earn money for good behavior– Money will be used in the classroom store

– We are always looking for donations!

Please look at and sign your child’s binder DAILY!!!!

FCAT

• Third Graders will take the FCAT in April.

DON’T WORRY!!! WE HAVE A PLAN!!!

Homework Policy

• Homework should be completed every night and turned in every morning.

• Students can occasionally earn a HOMEWORK PASS.

Reading Log • A new Reading Log will be added to students’

GATOR binder every Friday.

• Students should read 20 minutes, 5 times a week

• Students should fill out the reading log, providing an opportunity to practice comprehension skills.

• The reading log is due on Fridays and must be

signed by a parent.

– Students can earn money for Reading Logs!!

Dismissal• Children are dismissed from back doors near

the playground at 2:45– Younger siblings will be meeting us on the

playground

• Please be sure your child knows who is picking them up each day

• Inform us of any pick-up dismissal changes – A note in the GATOR binder is best, but a

call can be made to the office in case of an emergency

Odds and Ends

• The school day starts at 8:30, your student is tardy at 8:35

• If your child is doing morning show, please arrive by 8:15

• Absence notes are required the day your child returns to school

• You may send a HEALTHY SNACK for your child. We are always looking for donations.– Please encourage your child to eat breakfast every

morning before they come to school as well.
