IntroductionIntroduction• I was born in Lubbock, Texas on October 24,1975
(Can you figure out how old I am? Shhhhh….. don’t tell)
• Moved to McAllen when I was two, and I attended and graduated from McHi in 1994. Then I went to UTPA and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in History.
• I started my career in Harlingen for 1 year and then moved to Brown Middle School were I taught for 15 years. This is the beginning of my 18th year of teaching and my second year at BL Gray!!
Me continued…Me continued…• One daughter (11) named Kaitlyn but everyone
calls her Katie• One son named Brandon (7) but everyone calls
him Brandon• One husband, Two cats named Chita and Zazzles,
and two dogs named Pepper and Frick• This summer we went to Arkansas to camp and
mine for diamonds!• Two things you should know… I shake…a lot

place your backpack under your desk. Leave all electronics in your bag unless it is a BYOD day.
4. Write your objective in your agenda and begin working on the bell ringer or SSR.

will give you hall pass. You must use the restroom signal in order for me to allow you to go. “R” in sign language
• Ask to use the restroom while we are working independently NOT while I am speaking.
Restroom:Restroom:• Do NOT abuse this privilege! Any student
abusing the restroom privilege will no longer be allowed to use their passes during class time.
• Don’t ask to use the restroom during the first or last 15 minutes of class.

Turn in your work in the appropriate trayIf you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to get the work. Check the bulletin board. You should also ask your buddy what you missed. Your work will be due the following day.

Interactive NotebooksInteractive Notebooks• Interactive notebooks are an important tool that
we will use in class daily. Make sure you bring one by tomorrow. We will write in it everyday. In addition, please bring items to decorate your cover page to represent you. This includes pictures or magazine cut-outs.
BYODBYOD• BYOD is a Privilege, not a Right• Devices must ALWAYS be in airplane mode and may ONLY be used
when given permission.• The technology is allowed for educational purposes and only to
enhance the classroom experience.• Teachers will decide when it may be used and for what purpose(s).
The technology may only be used to access files on computer or Internet sites which are relevant to the classroom curriculum.
• When authorized for use by the classroom teacher, devices will remain visible.
• The technology may not be used to record, transmit or post photographic images or video of a person, or persons on campus during school activities
