Independent Students

• Students are responsible to:- Keep lockers organized- Bring materials to class (gym as well)- Arrive on time- Pass in school work on time- Approach teacher with questions or concerns

prior to involving parents

Reports

• Progress Reports- November 4th - April 2nd

• Achievement Reports- February 6th - June 19th

Absences

• Bring a written note if arriving after 8:20am• Call the office (453-5436) and leave a message

Extra Help

• Extra help sessions will be posted on the blog• A student should ask their subject teacher for

extra help if he or she:- Needs help understanding a project or assignment- Has been absent from school and missed class time- Requires extra time to complete tasks- Would like to improve their mark- Has questions about a mark he or she received

Late Work

Meals

• Nutrition cart available at snack• Vending machines available in the morning,

snack and lunch• Cafeteria open at lunch• Peanut free room (rm.213) for students with

severe allergies to peanuts• Breakfast program starting Monday

Medication

• Medication (taken regularly) to be kept at the office

• EpiPen should be with student at all times • If a student needs to take medication at school

– they must have a note from home to take it

Getting Involved

• Check NMS website under “sports” or “clubs”- NHL - Chat to the Future- Hiking Club- Organized sports (soccer, volleyball, basketball, badminton, etc.)- Glee Club- Show Choir- Creative Writing Club- Drama- Cross Country- MANY MORE!
