●Music lessons are happening in-school and virtually.●Scientific studies on instrument aerosol have been conducted & released.●I will now be in Mrs. Miller’s music room so there is plenty of space to spread out and be safe!●Small chamber ensembles will replace large ensembles this year.●Performances will not be live for at least first semester.●You have made a lot of tough decisions recently – music does not need to be one!●Every day is a new & different day!

●Masks must be worn by ALL students.●We are making special instrument masks.●3-6 feet distance between each student with extra space for trombones.●All instruments except flute/percussion will have SCHOOL PROVIDED bell covers.●Spit valves will be emptied in cups or puppy pads and disposed of by students after each lesson.●Mask & instrument cleaning should be done as often as possible.●Students should limit time spent in cubby room.●Percussion will need to wear gloves while playing school instruments.

NAfME GUIDELINES:
●We will schedule students by grade & team.●Performances will be either pre-recorded or live streamed.●All students will have their own books/music.○There can be NO sharing of music/supplies.●Retraining of instrument cleaning will be reviewed.●SmartMusic & Schoology will be valuable resources to ensure learning continuity.○Training for parents will occur on SmartMusic.●Music helps students with their social and emotional development!

SMARTMUSIC:•SmartMusic costs $10/year•We have some scholarships available if financial assistance is needed.•This platform will help students continue learning if we move to a virtual or hybrid program.

INFO:
● If you are using a school instrument, please have your child bring it with them on the first day of school.O Instruments will be cleaned/inventoried and then redistributed.● Lessons/ensembles will take place in the larger music room.● Lessons will begin during the third cycle.● Please fill out the Returning Google Form
