Time to use your describing skills! Do you remember the vocabulary in the box below? Discuss the words with your partner.

Divide yourself into pairs! One of you will be Student A and one of you will be Student B.

Student A: On the next page, choose a character but do not tell your partner who it is. They are

going to ask you some ‘yes or no’ questions, such as “Is your character a man?” or “Does he/she

wear glasses?” You can only answer yes or no. Your partner will carry on asking questions until they

are ready to guess who it is.

Student B: Your partner has chosen a character from the next page. You must try and find out who it

is! You can ask ‘yes or no’ questions, such as “Is your character a man?” if they answer “yes”, then

you know it is not any of the men. Ask more questions, such as “Does she wear glasses?” If she

doesn’t wear glasses, you can ignore all the characters with glasses. When you think you know who

their character is, shout it out!

When Student A’s character has been identified, swap roles! Now it is Student B’s turn to pick a character, and Student A will guess who it is. Good luck!
