Purpose
The Walking Dead is an American horror, but also shown in the United Kingdom on Fox. The show makes me feel on edge most of the episode and that’s what I feel like about it because you need to watch each episode to really know what’s going on.
Form and Style
• The show is a long form TV show running for an hour each episode. • It has a big cast but only a couple of main characters.• The season will have one main story line but there will be different
stories throughout the episodes.• Themes of the show would be; survival, death and problems.
Content
• Walking Dead has so many main characters, that get killed off or brought in during a season.
• The first season and half of season five is in the Atlanta metro area and surrounding countryside, and the second half of season five is set in Alexandria, Virginia.
Meaning
The show is purely for entertain, however you get debate that you get other meanings from the main character Rick Grimes trying to get order back and rebuild society.
Genre
The genre is horror with a subgenre of zombies. The idea came from the comic book series The Walking Dead. But the TV series is very popular and brings in a lot of new ideas to zombie apocalypse films or TV shows, and I think there is no other TV show or film like it.
Target Audience
The Walking Dead is for 18 year olds and over but I know a lot of people that are 15 – 20 that watch the show.
Frequency
• The show is on once a week for around 16 episodes.• Viewers will usually watch it every week or catch up on it on
Amazon Prime or Netflix.• I personally think you have to watch every episode to understand
what’s happening in the series.
