of the shape of a teardrop.

Then assembled together with the helpof support sticks.

 Assembly of turbine blades Six such turbine blades are made.

Three blades are connected to the shaft 120

apart. the other three blades are also connected to

the shaft in similar manner but with oppositeorientation.

By the virtue of this, the two assembliesmove in opposite direction in the same windflow.

 Axial Field Alternator In the axial field alternator the stator

conductors are radically disposed eithrespect to the shaft and the workingmagnetic flux is axial.

Rotor

Eight circular arc type neodymium magnets were used to make

eight poles. The two rotors are mechanically coupled to each other.

Stator Stator conductors

are encapsulated in

epoxy resin forrigidity and strength.

Six coils are used inwhich gives 1 phasetwo coils.

Stator The stator in

sandwiched between

two rotors.  As the stator is also

rotating the output is taken using sliprings.

Working In the design the upper turbine is

connected to the rotor and the lower

turbine is connected to the stator. With this assembly both the stator and

the rotor will rotate in the opposite

direction. Due to this, the resultant rpm of the

alternator is increased considerably.

Working The emf induced in the stator coils can

be clculated from the equation below.

Z = EA/P (N/60)

The output from the stator is rectifiedand is then used to charge a batterywhich can be used later.

 Advantages Since the armature is totally free from irn,

there are no iron losses.

Low weight of the stator results in low weight to power ratio of the alternator.

There are no field winding in the alternator so

there are no field winding ohmic losses. Compact shape is obtained in the form of a

disc and axial length is reduced.

performance of the alternator ascompared to the conventionalalternators.
