A short visual taste of the user testing process.

Transcript of User Testing A Learning Platform

Here’s what user

testing looked like!

Iteration #1 : Testing our first audio podcast with residential workers

“I wish I had a copy of this so I could share it on Facebook!”

!!

Rather than guess what staff might enjoy learning we had them select cards with topics and themes that excited them. !We learned that we needed to use less formal, academic language to appeal to a broader audience and that staff desired more visual content.

Iteration #1

!!Staff told us that they would like opportunities to discuss the ideas they were exploring in the podcasts with colleagues. !We took that feedback and designed a more social learning experience. Above, is a journey map of that learning experience.

Iteration #3

Combining Iterations 1 + 2, we tested a more complete learning experience with more visual materials, including a more detailed episode guide.

Iteration #4

We tested the waters with a short video & a shared learning web platform for matching staff with like interests.

Based on staff desire for more visual content, we wanted to make episodes more fun, interesting & engaging.

A combination of stop motion

animation & live video was

our next creative venture.

Iteration #5 Testing video episodes with staff

Iteration #5

We tested our new video episodes for the first time & accompanied them with supporting print materials and activities. Feedback was very positive.

One manager found

the ‘Testing your

assumptions’ activity

so useful, he asked to

keep his copy so he

could share it with

staff.

Never done!

We’re taking everything we learned in these

rounds of user testing into developing a

useful and dynamic learning experience for

people interested in the prototyping process.

…stay tuned!
