TRANSITIONS

Findings

‘Course used facebook for comments and general questions. But not all students were

in the group, so not all of them got the information. So it was a bit unfair’ (Digital Footprint, Q27, survey 2)

‘Twitter…I have not found it useful and was annoyed that I had to create an

account for the course as I had no desire to be on twitter’.(Digital Footprint survey response)

“People are actually probably a bit nicer than you really think. I mean you will get the odd

person out there who just wants to jump on someone who is struggling but I think most people

out there are probably a bit nicer”

[participant 1, talking about YikYak]

‘I think used properly social media is super beneficial for everybody but only when

you know how to use it…’ (participant 5, interview 3).

Supporting Students

"Facebook, I would say it's probably just a kind of a representation of who I am in

some ways, like who I am in my personal life" (participant 1)

“I suppose you did make me think a little more about, I guess the fact that I do put quite a bit

of information out there that might not necessarily always be a good thing in that people

know where I am a lot of the time”

[participant 6, talking about their digital footprint]
