Soar to be a Hillcrest
We understand many of our families travel long distances for
winter break. Please notify the school office if your child will be
missing some school before or after the break due to your trav-
els. These absences will be excused if the office is notified in
advance of the trip. Thank you for your help. If you would like
to gather work, teachers must have 2-3 days notice. If you will
be gone more than a week, teachers will not be able to gather
work for the entire time your family is gone. Some work will
have to be made up upon your return.

KINDNESS COUNTS AT HILLCREST
As part of our Red Ribbon Week celebration Hill-
crest students campaigned to help a classroom
impacted by the hurricane. Student council set a
goal of raising $350.00 in donations to support
one classroom. Hillcrest families, students, and
staff embraced the challenge. Together the Hill-
crest community raised $888.34! Our donation
is going to a school in Texas and will support
multiple classrooms! A big thank you to Mrs.
Lofflin’s 5th grade class who supported the cause
by helping collect coins after school and making
car donation envelops. Also a big thank you to
the MERC who donated a healthy snack to each
classroom as a thank you for supporting an edu-
cational community in need.
