MTB BASES –A mountain bike base is an area/locality hosting several waymarked or mapped trails. These areas
of wales are gateways to some of the most stunning scenery and exhilarating tracks in the
whole of the UK.
Essential mountain bike facilities such as accommodation, restaurants and cafes, bike
shops, etc. Are all available within the vicinity from independent providers.
The web site will have map and usually a gpx file to download. Trails will generally be well marked.

14,000 cyclists –from france, UK, germany, netherlands, gather for a week of cycle routes on
road and off road.
Run by local clubs and next year is 80th.
Participants – mainly ‘baby boomers’ affluent
– expensive bikes, time to travel, cycling
enthusiasts.
There is a village where most of the rides each day start and finish, where there is usually food, drink
and expo.Big expo where clothing, wine,
cycle tour exhibit.
