They depend on each other

story

Debbie and Dianne are a good example for twins depend on each other, the following part of the interaction between Debbie and Dianne illustrates this:

Dianne: “Although we fought a whole lot, we had this real deep interdependency ”.Debbie: “Yes, the first day of kindergarten. Do you want to talk about that”?Dianne: “Yes, I was the only kid in the whole place who couldn’t cry ”.

Debbie: “I hated Dianne. . . but I felt a real strong bond between us. In kindergarten, I was real scared the first day, and I was crying too, but I was very

comforted that Dianne was there, and that was a big deal ”.Dianne: “We were shy about new situations, and it was just very comforting to

have the other one ”.Debbie: “Like going to birthday parties. We were very comforted by having each

other there ”.Dianne: “I think the most important thing to me in terms of dependency was Debbie’s presence in social situations, just for her to be there; and especially when we were kids, she was much more easily likable with other people, and I was kind of shy, so that kind of took the pressure off of me, that I didn’t have to

stand alone”. ………
