Getting Started
Purpose of the Management Portal One of the benefits of hosting a TWC WiFi Hotspot is being able to customize the WiFi experience you offer your customers, so that when they access WiFi at your business, they see your brand, your welcome message and get the daily free access time that you’ve set up.

These customizations are easily accomplished in the Management Portal with just a few clicks

In addition to these customizations, the online Management Portal also allows you to:
Update your business information on our WiFi coverage map and apps
View and download WiFi usage reports
Manage access to the portal by adding, removing or setting access levels for users

Signing in to the Management Portal The online Management Portal is located at www.admin.twcwifi.com. You may want to bookmark this location for easy access.

You will need your TWC WiFi Management Portal username and password to gain access.
These credentials were sent to you in an email from noreply@twcwifi.com immediately after
your hotspot was installed.

To access the portal from this email, simply click the link in your email
(www.admin.twcwifi.com).
After initial sign in, you will be required to reset your password.
Passwords must be at least eight characters long must include upper and lower case letters, at
least one number and cannot include special characters.
If you forgot your password, select “Forgot password?” and a new one will be sent. If you need
help with your credentials, contact the WiFi Hotspot Hotline at 1-855-344-4693.
Be sure to note your username and password for future access. General Navigation Once signed in, you will be taken to the
Dashboard screen. From here you will see
the five main navigation tabs for the
Management Portal on the left: Dashboard,
Settings, Reports, Admin and Help.

Dashboard
Overview The Dashboard is the first screen you will see every time you sign in. It provides an overview of
WiFi activity at your location(s) so you can quickly see the status of your hotspot(s) and
summary reports on WiFi usage in the past 24 hours. If you have multiple locations or hotspots,
you can select which ones you would like to view. To add a blueprint – refer to Settings.
Dashboard
Network Status You will find overall network status indicated in the upper right hand corner and individual
hotspot status (for multiple locations or hotspots) next to each business location listed on the
left. If your AP appears gray or red, refer to FAQs for more information.
Location Filter If you have multiple locations or hotspots, be sure you have made desired selections under the
header tab labeled “Business Location” to get the intended view. The default setting is “All”.

Settings
Overview All customer-facing customization is done in the Settings tab. In Settings there are two horizontal navigation tabs: Location and TWC WiFi Portal.
Settings
TWC WiFi Customization for TWC WiFi Portal The TWC WiFi Portal tab is where all customization for the customer-facing WiFi experience can
be set and managed. From here, you can:
Add your business logo and welcome message
o Your business logo can be resized in the tool if needed
o Your welcome message cannot exceed 120 characters
Enable DAILY free access time for guests
o This is the most critical customization action
o If you do not enable time, the default offer (No daily free time) is 30 minutes per
month, per device
Enter the URL of your business website
o Guests will be automatically directed to this web address after sign-in
Create an optional password for access to your hotspot
o If desired, you can add a password that guests would need to use in order to
access your daily free WiFi
Once you are finished, select PREVIEW BEFORE SAVING so you can see how your portal will
look. After you are finished, click SAVE TO THIS LOCATION.

To add your business logo, click browse and select the image you want to use.

Then use the tool to resize if needed.
To add a welcome message to display to your visitors when they connect, type your message in
the space available. Your message is limited to 120 characters.

Next enter the URL of the website you would like your guests redirected to after sign in,
typically your business website (www.mybusiness.com).
Select the amount of DAILY free WiFi access time you would like to offer your guests from the
drop down menu. If you do not select the amount of daily free access time the default (no
daily free access time) is 30 minutes per month, per device.

If you’d like your guests to ask you for a password for free access to your hotspot, check the
‘enable password’ box and add the password of your choice. This is the last customization
option on the page.
This is for guest access only and is completely optional. Time Warner Cable customers will still
be able to access your hotspot for free using their TWC credentials.
Once you have made your setting selections, you can preview your customized sign in page on
the right. If you are satisfied with the way your TWC WiFi Portal appears, click Save to this
Location and your changes will go into effect right away.

Location Settings In the Location tab, you can customize elements related to defining your business location:
Modify how your business information appears on our TWC WiFi & partner coverage
maps and apps
o You can update your location name, phone number and business website
address.
o These changes will take up to two weeks to present on the maps and apps.
o The physical address cannot be changed in the Management Portal.
Name your hotspot or Access Point (AP)
o This is particularly helpful if you have more than one hotspot in your location as
you can use this name to select the specific hotspot you want to view for
reporting or customization.
Upload a blueprint.
o You may want to add a blueprint of your business to show where your hotspot is
located. This will be used to display the Heat Map on the Dashboard.
All customization options on the Location tab are optional. The blueprint image and the
hotspot name will only appear to employees who access your Management Portal.

Reports
Overview The third navigation tab, Reports, provides data on WiFi activity in your place of business.
There are six reports that can be viewed by date range and visitor type and you can also filter
the reports by location and hotspot.
Reports can be downloaded to your computer by clicking ‘Download’ in upper right hand
corner. The displayed graphs can also be printed.

Report Filters: Date and Visitor Type Setting filters to view WiFi activity data is an important step when viewing or downloading
reports. Filters can be set by date range, visitor type, and location(s)/hotspot(s). Once set,
filters will apply to all reports on the page. When you navigate away from the reports page,
filters will reset to default settings you may want to download any desired reports before
leaving the page.
Default settings are “Past Month” for date range and “All” for visitor type and
location(s)/hotspot(s).
Data Range: Select the dates for the reports by clicking Edit Date Range
o View the reports by day, week, month, or year
o Or select a custom date range
Visitor Type: Select the Visitor Type you want to see on the reports
o TWC WiFi (TWC Internet customers), CABLE WiFi (TWC partner customers), or
Free users (users accessing through free trial option on the sign-in portal).

Report Filters: Multiple Location or Hotspots If you have more than one business location that has a TWCWiFi Hotspot and/or more than one
hotspot in a business location, you may want to view reports by individual locations or
hotspots. To do this, click on the location arrow to select desired locations and/or hotspots.
These choices will apply to all reports on the page. The settings will revert to the default setting
(All Locations) when you leave the Reports tab so you may want to download any desired
reports before navigating away from the page.

Detailed descriptions of each report follow.
Connected Devices: Displays the number of devices connected to WiFi across the selected date range.
Length of Connection: Displays the distribution of connection times for devices so a host can gauge how long customers are using WiFi while at your business.
Visit Frequency: Displays the distribution of devices by visit history so you can get an understanding of the ratio of returning customers (devices) to new customers (devices).

Connections by Time of Day: Displays WiFi activity by device, by time of day. This helps identify peak usage times.
User Type: Displays the distribution of WiFi user types accessing your hotspot.
Device Type: Displays the distribution of types of devices connected to your hotspot.
Each of these reports can be downloaded and saved to your computer by selecting the
download button in the upper right hand corner of the report.

Admin
Overview The Admin tab allows the primary business contact to give Management Portal access to
additional users. Only users with Administrative or “Full” access will see this tab.
Access levels have the following permissions:
Full access is the same as administrator level access. A user has full editing capabilities including managing portal user access.
Limited access allows the user to download reports and modify portal settings. A Limited access user cannot manage portal user access.
Read Only access allows the user to create and download reports but they cannot make
any modifications to settings or manage portal user access.
To add a user:
1. Click Add New User and enter their name, username, and email address
2. Select their Access Level.
3. Click Save Changes.
4. An email will automatically be sent to them with their temporary password to sign in.
To completely delete a user’s account:
Click the red X and click Save Changes. This will deactivate their Management Portal account and it will no longer appear.
To remove access for a user:
1. Select Remove Access. 2. Click Save Changes. This will prevent a user from signing in but their account will still
appear.

Overview The last tab provides support and resources for the Management Portal. Here you will find
FAQs (general and by navigation area), the dedicated support line and other helpful links.
This section also has the
option of enabling or
disabling contextual help
(roll-over tips, as shown>).
When you are finished,
you can sign out by
selecting the sign out
button in the top right
corner.
