Concept : Amphitheater Ancient Roman amphitheatres were large central performance spaces surrounded by ascending seating. Here we use it as the heart of the building in order gathers all the student in to one place.
ADMINISTRATION OFFICE EDUCATION FACILITIES
Due to the sound reflection, the wall of all the rooms cannot be paralleled. Comes the planning that combined the idea of the Amphi-theater and spaces best for sounds: Half-circle shaped planning.
This planning answers well to the audito-rium shape and lecture room seatings. Yet con-tinue the elegance of Chulalongkorn signature.
The 13th-floor-tower consists all kinds of music pratising room, 200 seats auditorium, music library and lecture rooms. The lower building in the front is used by the administate department only
By to half-circle shape of planning, the building facade is curvy and smooth like the sound of music, while still firmly remain the imposing images of the institute.
The amphitheater court can be use as a stage for students to show their talents to the outside world.
Multiple size of practice room suitible for different instruments.
MEDIPARKBKK, THAILAND
International medical hub welcome people from around the world to come maintain ones health while enjoy Bangkok city atmo-sphere. Medical, retail shops and green space combine together as ‘Medipark‘.
Organic architecture helps integrate the building with trees. Reduce heavy masses from the architecture.
2011
Different unit layout helps create privacy for the guests while reduce the building mass.
Linkage between MRT and the Asoke area. Green space for everyone passing through.
MUSEUM OFCONTEMPORARY
ART
Designed aiming to be the first art muse-um in Thailand that up to international standard level both in exhibition and reserving catagory. The museum contains both permanent and temporary collection.
The main concept of the project is to be ‘Gateway‘ from the city to the art atmosphere. Not only for the museum itself, but for Thailand Cultural Center as well. Walking through the museum will be like a walk in the park, shorter distance with some art to enjoy along the way.
THESIS2011
Main Hall - Ramp that leads all entrances to our main exhibition
Entrance from Thailand Cultural Center is as important as the
Ratchadapisek Rd. entrance
Main approach is from MRT. One can easily walk through cover walk way straight in to the museum. Or through the art park to Thailand Cultural Center as short cut.
Vision approach from Ratchadapisek Rd. welcomes everybody passing by. This entrance serves not only for walk in but also as an art plaza where everybody can relax and enjoy street performances.
A walk in the park take its meaning to another level with fine art such as sculptures from Thai great artists around the country inte-grate with the green space. In the middle of the museum will be the heart of the project. Reflection pool not only serves as a node but as retention pond as well, sorting out flood problems along the way.
Indirect lighting system with different types of triangle unit form For permanent exhibition, the light will illuminate only on the painting to ease eye sight. On the other hand, for temporary exhibi-tion, due to the uncertainty of works to show, lighting will be diffused equally around the room.
For permanent collection contain works of so many Thai honorable and national artists. Thousands of work lays together telling history of how Contemporary Art in Thailand started in 2475 B.E. to present. Finish the exhibition with the highlight room dedicated to His Majesty the King Rama IX, ‘King the Rain‘.
