Biomanufacturing industry in NC was poised for major growth, but couldn’t find enough qualified employees.

Community colleges were critically under funded.

Universities needed more industrially-targeted curricula, as well as facilities.

The state responded with Golden LEAF funding.

The Biomanufacturing and Pharmaceutical Training Consortium was launched.
