The outcomesThe beginning of a series of on-going dialogues between civically minded city leaders and stakeholders who want a part in shaping the future of our cities towards a sustainable future, who will develop a coordinated approach to what's required to prepare our cities for the 22nd century.

Executive Summary
Overview: The first day (Smarter Cities for a sustainable future) will look at how can we create a sustainable city in the current economic climate and we’ll make a bold start to answering this question by examining how to get the whole city involved.
Expected outcomes: On going dialogue between civically minded city leaders and stakeholders who want a part in shaping the future of our cities towards a sustainable future, who will develop a coordinated approach to what's required to prepare our cities for the 22nd century.
Why attend: You will have the opportunity to discuss and collaborate with other senior leaders, develop new actionable ideas for enhancing the sustainability and “livability” of UK cities for citizens. Be inspired by forward-thinking speakers, explore new ways of working across public and private sector boundaries and discuss the obstacles that might get in the way and how they can be overcome.
How will this stimulate action? Aside from the networking opportunities that this event provides, participants will be able to submit “pledges” on the day and connect with like-minded individuals over a particular challenge, programme or initiative on a large wall at the event. There will also be the opportunity to submit questions for the panel discussion in the afternoon.
