Open Application Finder

Open the application finder by touching the “App Store” icon.

Search for ELC App

Search for the YSS ELC application by typing “YSS ELC” into the App Store search area.

Install ELC App

Install the YSS ELC app by touching the download icon.

Once download is complete, the download icon will say “open.”

Return to Home Screen

Return to your home menu, and you will now see the “YSS ELC” icon.

Access Speaking Activities Directly from the ELC App

Touch the “YSS ELC” app from the home screen to directly access ELC speaking activities.

Using the ELC on iPad Web Browser

1. Open web browser on iPad by touching the icon, preferably Safari.

2. Type one of the following URLs a. TOEFL Junior- http://epn.toefljuniorelc.com/ b. TOEFL Primary- http://epn.toeflprimaryelc.com/

3. Log in using assigned credentials

Speaking Activities

When you encounter a Speaking activity while using the ELC on iPad via the iPad web browser, the YSS ELC app will open automatically. Once you complete the Speaking activity, leave the YSS ELC app and return to the iPad web browser. Then you will be able to continue with the next activity.

Taking a Practice Test on iPad

1. From the ELC homepage, hover over “Practice” and click “Start Speaking Practice.”

2. Start the speaking practice test; it will open in a new browser tab 3. When you reach a stage when you should record yourself, the

following message will be displayed in the browser:

4. Click the "Open the TOEFL app" button, you'll be redirected to the app:

5. After you finish recording, wait for the confirmation message to ensure the recording was successfully sent:

6. After the message is displayed switch back to the browser by double clicking the iPad's home button to view all open applications, then select the browser you used to access the ELC.

7. Click OK to close the message and then manually return to the ELC in the web browser by double clicking the iPad's home button. Then click the blue arrow at the bottom of the message in order to resume the test:

8. Repeat these steps until the practice test is complete
