Target

The following collection is intended for women in their 20s and 30s looking for a colorful, intriguingly structure alternative to the little black dress. It was created in the Spring of 2010 for an original

project in my Apparel Design course. Mediums used are 2B pencils, 4B pencils, and colored pencils.

Description

Personal Purpose

To demonstrate my creative capacity

To showcase my sketching abilities

To exhibit my ability to create a cohesive, original collection

To establish my understanding of garment construction, color schemes and the fashion figure

This dress is made of 65% polyester and 35% cotton, with a long, layered bow made of 100% silk. It is a strapless garment featuring a heavily interfaced, sturdy rectangular piece which extends past the right shoulder.

This dress is made of 70% polyester and 30% silk. It features a one-shoulder design. The green ruffled pieces at the shoulder and waist are separate piece of the same fiber content, sewn on to the garment.

This dress is made of 100% silk. The geometric detailing at the front consists of separate pieces of fabric, each sewn into the garment. A 100% silk bow is sewn on to the sides of the dress, tying in the center back.

This dress is made of 95% polyester and 5% spandex, with a 100% silk bow sewn onto it. The garment features lace sewn onto the bust area, off-the-shoulder neckline, and a deep 'V' back.

This dress is made of 100% silk featuring lacey ruffles at the neckline and bottom sides. Each layer of ruffles is a separate color and piece, sewn onto the garment.

This dress is made from 100% silk, with a 100% polyester off-the-shoulder lace shrug. The shrug is a attached to the garment at the underarm and center back. The dress features embroidered purple petals with stems.
