A Note from Fr. Michal . . . Our Lord is fully present and received in either or both species. Offering the Precious Blood to all the faithful at every Mass is not required. “It should never be construed, therefore, that Communion under the form of bread alone or Communion under the form of wine alone is somehow an incomplete act or that Christ is not fully present to the communicant.” (CCC 1390) Since Christ is sacramentally present under each of the species, communion under the species of bread alone makes it possible to receive all the fruit of Eucharis c grace.
On Monday, March 16, at 7:00pm, our Parish Council will meet to discuss upcoming events. As these members of the council represent you, our parishioners, please let us know of any concerns.
Please email Elaine Stock, Parish Council president, at elasto7784@gmail.com so your concerns can be included on the agenda. Please pray for our second grade students who will celebrate the sacrament of First Reconcilia on on Tuesday, March 17, at 6:00pm, at Sacred Heart Church.
On Friday, March 20, the staff will be gathering for a spiritual retreat. As a staff, we work side by side on the various tasks daily, however, this will give us special
me to pray and reflect on our ministry. The parish office will be closed for the day, so please contact us prior to Friday if you need anything. It is a Catholic tradi on for the pastor to visit parishioners’ homes. I want to visit all of you every year, if you allow me. This can simply be a short me together. So, please call our parish office or talk to me a er Mass to schedule a date. Our liturgical ministers are preparing the Holy Triduum schedule. These team leaders will contact ministers by phone or email to serve in one ministry. Please say yes, so that the schedule can be completed.

Lenten Opportunities
A spiritual checklist from Fr. Michal . . . As we are half way through the Lenten season, I hope that you are prayerfully reflecting on the three main disciplines of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. According to the Church’s Canon Law, all healthy Catholics from age 18 to 59 are required to fast and abstain from meat on all Fridays of Lent. Fasting is a sacrifice, a gift back to God of our heart’s intent to depend more completely on God. Almsgiving is providing assistance to the poor among us, supporting the less fortunate. Prayer changes our relationship with God. We acknowledge our limitations and open ourselves to all that God has to offer us.
I invite you to attend the Stations of the Cross on Fridays during Lent at 5:30pm at Sacred Heart Church. As we journey through each of the stations, we focus on Jesus’ last days before crucifixion.
Reconciliation is available 30 minutes prior to each weekday Mass and Saturdays at 3:00pm. The PSR Reconciliation service will be on Wednesday, March 18, at 6:30pm, at Sacred Heart Church and there will also be reconciliation on Tuesday, March 31, during our Lenten Retreat. Everyone is welcome at each of these reconciliation times or by appointment with Fr. Michal. Please call the parish office to set up a time.
On Tuesdays during Lent, the weekday Mass is celebrated at 12:10pm (approx. 30 minutes) to allow you to attend Mass and still have time for a quick lunch.
