Allen has co-authored and edited manypublications on the biogeography and ecology of marinefishes of the Pacific coast of North America including thebooks, “The Ecology of Marine Fishes: California andAdjacent Waters” and “A Field Guide to the Coastal Fishesfrom Alaska to California.” Dr. Allen will discuss thedemise and recent return of the apex predator of California’ssouthern kelp forests, the Giant Sea Bass, Stereolepis gigas.
