Cynthia Thurairajah | Lieutenant Governor Division 1B | cynthia.ltg1b@gmail.com | (609) 440 - 3366
Dear Division 1B, New Jersey District Board, and Kiwanis Committee,
My name is Cynthia Thurairajah and I’m a junior at Egg Harbor Township High
School. I’m honored and excited to serve as the Lieutenant Governor of Division 1B. This
year Key Club has not only given me the chance to lead an amazing group of students to be-
come leaders, but it has also given me chances to explore the state and meet so many new
people. My freshman year I became a committee chair for the International Partners commit-
tee and sophomore year I was elected to be the recording secretary. The best thing Key Club
has given me is the chance to be loud and outgoing, because you have to show your love for
this great organization to win the spirit stick! To me, Key Club isn’t just about the service or
keeping track of hours, but it is about all the memories you make while serving others. The
greatest thing about Key Club is that there are so many events that allow you to socialize and
still make a difference in lives all around the world.
The Lieutenant Governors before me have helped shape my goals for this service year.
My main goal is to bring the division closer together through divisional projects and more
president council meetings. My other goal is to strengthen the K-family by building up the
other branches such as K-kids and Builders Club. For those of you who are new to Key Club,
the Lieutenant Governor is responsible for training the officers, holding president council
meetings, communicating information from the division to the district, helping to answer
questions, building new clubs, and holding divisional events. By visiting with each club, I
hope to know all the officers and assist them in any way I can.
Thank you for allowing me to help lead this division to greater heights and I look for-
ward to working with everyone! If you have any questions feel free to text, call, or email me.
Yours in Caring and Service,
Cynthia Thurairajah
Lieutenant Governor of Division 1B
New Jersey District of Key Club International
Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234

MEET THE EXECUTIVE BOARD International Trustee— Colten Meisner Colten is one of the International Trustees who serves
as a liaison to the three districts of New Jersey, Georgia
and Indiana. Colten is from Fort Worth, Texas and is
a philanthropist, future journalist, news junkie, and
horror movie fanatic. If you are one of the many Key
Clubbers excited for ICON, you will get meet Colten
as well a thousands of Key Clubbers around the world.
Although he lives thousands of miles away, he loves to
live Jersey Fresh!
New Jersey District Governor—Ryan Clarkin Ryan Clarkin went through campaigning and a
debate in front of hundreds at District Conven-
tion and has been elected as the 2013-2014 Dis-
trict Governor. His plans this year are to break
down the walls between club and division to
help unify the mighty New Jersey District. He
also will be calling all the LTGS to see club pro-
gress. Ryan served on the 2011-2012 District
Board and last year he was a very active general
member. A huge congratulations to Ryan on his
victory at DCON!

MEET THE EXECUTIVE BOARD New Jersey District Secretary—Kelly Tran
For many of you, Kelly Tran isn’t a new face. She
served as the Lieutenant Governor of our divi-
sion last service year and after a great campaign
that I got to be a part of, she was elected as our
District Secretary. As club secretaries turn in their
report forms, Kelly complies them and lets the di-
vision know about their progress. Kelly’s plans for
the year include a new Facebook page for secretar-
ies as well as breaking down barriers between club
and district. Congratulations, Kelly!
New Jersey District Editor—Pak Chau
Just like Kelly and I, Pak is another District Board
member from Egg Harbor Township. His obses-
sion with newsletters as club editor helped to se-
cure votes as the campaign continued. His plans
include helping the clubs with newsletters as well
as creating online archives for pictures and tutori-
als. If you want to improve your closet with Key
Club attire, Pak has come up with the idea of a
New Jersey District clothing catalog. Keep your
eyes peeled for Pak’s ideas and designed filled Jer-
sey Key. Congratulations, Pak!

MEET THE EXECUTIVE
District Treasurer—Penny Xu
Our newly elected District Treasurer is from Parsip-
pany Hills High School and is part of many clubs.
Her goal this year is to be a T.E.A.M because
Together, Everyone Accomplishes More. Her goals
for the upcoming service year include increasing
the Early Bird Award recipients, increasing attend-
ance and fundraising at Fall Rally and DCON, and
to help the secretaries out, Penny also plans on
making a tutorial video to the new Membership
Update Center. Congratulations, Penny!
District Webmaster—Yuya Ong
Although District Webmaster is an appointed position
and not technically part of the executive board, I
would like to introduce division 1B the District Web-
master from Tenafly, Yuya. He is extremely skilled in
HTML and works with large companies for security
maintenance and other technological means. His goals
for the year include a Facebook page for webmasters,
refining the PR Handbook with Pak and improving
the website. Congratulations, Yuya!

REGIONAL TRAINING CONFERENCE
What is an RTC?
An RTC is a Regional Training Con-
ference where Key Clubbers from ei-
ther north or south Jersey come to-
gether to learn about the district as
well as learn about their position and
ways to serve others
What kinds of workshops are there?
At RTCs there are plenty of workshops
to attend in the four sessions. It is ad-
vised that clubs split up and attend as
many workshops as possible to gain
more information to bring back to the
club. There are workshops for each
leadership position, general members,
fundraising ideas, service ideas and
much, much more!

WHAT’S SO GREAT ABOUT
DISTRICT CONVENTION?
DCON was the greatest experience
of my life. The feeling I felt at
DCON cannot be described in
words. It was a great way to meet
many new Key Club from different
parts of New Jersey. DCON will be
a part of my life that I will never
forget.
- David Zhang (General Member
-Egg Harbor Twp)
DCON was a life-changing experi-
ence. It may sound cliché, but it's
true. Once you walk into a general
session, you can actually FEEL the
spirit and passion from over 600
other pumped up Key Clubbers.
- Valerie Wong (Immediate Past
President -Egg Harbor Twp)
DCON 2013 was the best one I've been to
so far because of knowing another club
(EHT!). Every session and workshop was
informative and fun. The best part about
DCON this year was the decorations be-
cause last year I didn't notice the theme
too much. But this year, I KNEW that it
was a 1920s theme. I especially loved the
photo booth.
- Marisa Wong (Co– President -Tenafly)
DCON was an amazing experi-ence this year. With more inti-mate workshops and intense
elections, this DCON was ,without a doubt, one of
the best I've ever been to
- Pak Chau (District Editor)
Going to District Convention was a weekend to reunite with everyone from Key Leader, to reunite with our friends from Tenafly, and to reunite with
Key Club, our family. It was a weekend, never to be forgotten. It is a memory that I’ll cherish
for eternity.
-Michael Tran (Recording Secre-tary Egg Harbor Twp)

Imagine spending a week in the nation’s capital over
Fourth of July with Key Clubbers from around the world.
While I have never been to International Convention, I
have heard nothing but amazing comments about
how life changing it is. Thousands of high school stu-
dents will be coming to Washington, DC from July 3-7th
to share friendships, go to workshops and explore an
amazing city. The New Jersey District will be taking a
bus on July 1st and arriving early to tour museums, go
to a baseball game and take night tours of the city.
Convention is from the 3-7th where workshops will be
held as well as campaigns for international office. Con-
certs and dances will be held throughout the week. If
you would like to attend this once in a lifetime oppor-
tunity, talk to your advisor or I as soon as possible
about getting more information.
