appeal to Dublin City Councilmanagement to properlysecure the site. It is a citycouncil site, ear marked forcity council development.Therefore, I believe thesecurity of the site is theresponsibility of DCC. Toleave the site without adequatefencing or security isirresponsible.”

her family to get her to Anfield,was met with a staggeringamount of goodwill in the com-munity.Within a week of an appeal

featured in The Echo, the fam-ily had secured matchday tick-ets, the use of a wheelchair, acarer, and a weekend itineraryin Merseyside, courtesy ofDublin Reds fans, with theD15 supporters club prominentin their support.Marie, and 13 of her family,

travelled over to Anfield onSeptember 10, to see the matchagainst Leicester City.The feisty grandmother is

now being dubbed a luckycharm by fellow supporters,after seeing her heroes thumpthe current league champions4-1.

“It was a great weekend,we’re so grateful to everyonewho made it possible, it’s madeus really happy,” said Marie.“Walking into Anfield was

so special and hearing You’llNever Walk Alone, made mecry, even again the day after thegame when we went on a sta-dium tour.”Thanks to the Liverpool

Foundation, Marie was over-come with emotion as she metJamie Carragher, Ian Rush,Robbie Fowler and GaryMcAllister.She has vowed to keep fight-

ing her illness, and hopes thisinspires other people to keepgoing through difficult times.Marie’s daughter Janice,

thanked everyone who madethe trip happen, especially “theIrish Reds and D15 LFCgroup, without who it wouldnever have got off the ground.”The family were inundated

with offers during the week-end, but had to turn somedown, so as not to “wear Mamout.”“As our Mam faces her next
