• The function of the circulatory system is to pump blood and oxygen through the body.• This system works with the
entire body.• If you don’t have the blood
pumping than your body will just shut down.
Parts Of The Circulatory System
• Heart• Blood vessels• Blood• The kinds of blood vessels are
arteries, capillaries, and veins.• There are many different kinds of
blood types.
Arteries
• Arteries carry blood away from the heart
Capillaries
• Tiny vessels where oxygen goes to cells and carbon dioxide is picked up.
Veins
• Brings oxygen back to the heart so it can pump right back to where it started.
Blood
• Plasma-liquid part • Red Blood cells-carry oxygen throughout the
body.• White Blood Cells-fight germs• Platelets-Make blood clot
Heart
• Pumps blood and oxygen through the body
