There is a Chief Justice.

And 8 associate justices.

Interpret the laws.

To protect the rights and liberties of everybody.

The supreme court has the power to decide whether a federal or state law or action by the president is constitutional.

Justices may remain in office for life.

Justices are chosen by the president and approved by the senate.
