El Terminological Archival Bank es una iniciativa que contribuye con la
normalización de términos archivísticos en inglés. Este documento se construye tomando
como guía un artículo titulado: “Archival and recordkeeping research: Past, present and
future. Research methods: information systems, and contexts”.
La información complementaria y referenciada, se utiliza para facilitar la comprensión y

Term Note: The use of archival to denote records whose content has been appraised as having
enduring value is fairly standard. Some archivists prefer the phrase 'enduring value' to
'permanent' when describing archival records, but permanence remains part of the vernacular

Term Note: The general oversight of a program to appraise, acquire, arrange and describe,
preserve, authenticate, and provide access to permanently valuable records.
(…) includes establishing the program's mission and goals, securing necessary resources to
support those activities, and evaluating the program's performance. Archives management is
distinguished from library, museum, and historical manuscripts traditions by the principles of
provenance, original order, and collective control to preserve the materials' authenticity,
context, and intellectual character.
