MAPINFO THEMATIC SETUP IN TEMS INVESTIGATION FOR DRIVE

ANALYZATION

Introduction Our motive here is basically to make drive analyzation easier for a amateur drive tester. Here we will change the default legend set for TEMS Investigation. This will help us to compare the drive that can be seen in the TEMS Investigation map window to the

drive seen in mapinfo with the help of Mapinfo thematic. Therefore drive tester can analyze drive easily without making any tab file and even while driving at all

times.

STEP 1 – Navigation window Click view. Go to Navigator in the view option. Click it. A window will be displayed on the left hand side.

Step 2 – Thematic Setup Click on Info elements in the navigation window present at the bottom. Select the parameter whose thematic is to be changed. Here we have selected Rx lev full (dbm). Click it The drop down menu will have 3 options – Color, Size and Symbol Click on colour to change the thematic of the drive. This will display a window at the centre of the screen called color properties.

In navigator goes on RxLev Full(dBm)

Step 3 – Thematic change Window will have different Rx level ranges and different colors representing them beside it. We can change the ranges and the colors representing them with the help of edit. We can also add or delete a range depending on our requirement. Once the ranges are finalized, click O.K .

Size and symbol can also be changed if required.

Set the range for RxLev Full(dBm)

Step 4 - Edit theme in map window Go to edit/add theme option present in map window. Go to coverage layer and click once over it. Drop down menu appears. Check if the option Rx level full (dbm) is present. If not follow the points mentioned below Click on any of the options below. A window will appear on screen by the name of ‘EDIT THEME’. Select GSM in the option SYSTEM Select MS1 or MS2 depending on which MS is used for which scenario. Here the scenario is MS1 – Idle & MS2 – Dedicated. We select MS1 as the parameter is Rx level full (dbm). Now select range in option color. Select Rx level full (dbm) in the window ‘SELECT COLOR IE’ Now click ok. Close the theme setting window.

The resultant drive can now be scene in the map window. We can compare it to our legend used in mapinfo.
