TAM Login

The User ID Is not casesensitive.

The passwordmust be atleast 8 characters with 2 non alpha (do not use the numbers at the beginning of the login).

The database is: lea530.

Main TAM Screen

TAM automatically defaults to “Today’s Classes”. As a security device, the roster will not populate until you click on the class. If you have classes on alternate days, uncheck to see all classes.

Student Demographics

Student Demographics

One of the major benefits of NC WISE to teachers is access to student information.

To access information on an individual, click on the student’s name at the right.

Click on the Basic Demographics button.

This is the basic Demographics screen.

(this data is view-only for teachers, only Data Managers can enter or change data)

The second tab takes you to the Parents / Emergency Contacts screen.

The third tab takes you to any Medical information / alerts for this student.

The fourth tab takes you to the student’s schedule.

NOTE: Both semesters are listed.

The fifth tab takes you to Observations Journal. This enables the teacher to maintain a continuous log of progress and observations. This is private unless Shared Access is checked.

To add an observation for a student, first click on the Add button. Date, time and teacher name will automatically be inserted for you.

Click on the drop-down arrow under Type.

Choose either Class or Private.

Click on the Shared Access box if you would like the student’s other teachers to see your observations.

Click inside the Narrative box and type your observation.

When finished, click on the Save icon.

The sixth tab gives teachers “view” access to the current teams in which the student participates.

The seventh tab is used on a limited basis and the final tab is not used at all.

With this screen, as with all other Demographic screens, click on the Door icon to exit.

Academic Progress

Academic Progress shows the individual student’s current grades in your class without displaying other students’ information.

Select the student and click on Academic Progress button.

When assignments are in the gradebook, they are displayed here.

You have the option of printing this information by clicking on the Printer icon.

To return to the Main screen, click on the Door icon.

Student Absences

Teachers can also view attendance information for individual students.

Select the student and click on the Student Absences button.

This screen allows the teacher view-only access to attendance information for a student.

Daily Attendance: All Students Present

1. Click the Home Rooms radio button on the TAM start screen. 2. Check AC (Attendance Complete) at the end of the Home Room line. 3. Exit by clicking on the door. Attendance is automatically saved. 4. Once attendance is complete – all changes are made by the Data Manager.

3. Place a check in the check box under the “A” under the AM column next to the students who are absent.

4. Place a check in the check box under the “L” under the AM column next to the students who are late (tardy).

5. Click in the Attendance Completed box

7. Exit by clicking on the door.

8. Once attendance is complete – all changes are made by the Data Manager.

Always remember to click on the X to close your Internet browser and free the bandwidth.

Wise HINTS

1. Log on to your computer with your teacher user name and password—cannot access if logged in as STUDENT

2. LOG in using the NC Wise icon on the Novell Launcher – under the admin folder.

3. ALWAYS EXIT through the door

4. Never click on the X to close the program!!!!

5. ONLY the classroom teacher has access to the TAM to take attendance or give grades

6. TAM (Teacher Assistant Module) does not mean the teacher assistant in the classroom. Teacher Assistants nor substitutes are not to be given access to the teacher’s user name and password

7. NC WISE has a built in tracking device and changes in information will be traced to you as the responsible party.

8. NEVER, NEVER place the user name and password on the computer, under the keyboard, in your desk drawer, etc—Memory is BEST
