• Titians real name was Tiziano Vecelli.

• He was born in Pieve di Cadore, Italy in the year 1485

• He died August 27, 1576 in Venice Italy

• Titian trained under two semi seminal Venetian artists, Giovanni Bellini and Giorgione.

• When they both died he soon became very popular.

• He was known for his amazing use of color

He soon gained international fame

Many people thought his paintings were influential even throughout the seventeenth century.

His style soon reached maturity, marked by fullness of forms, compositional confidence and chromatic balance.

Famous work• Some of his most famous paintings

included a portrait of Emperor Charles V, who would only allow him to paint it. Another famous painting he did was Pope Paul III

famous paintings is “Christ crowned with thorns.

Its realism and faces showing strong emotion shows that the artwork was done in the renaissance period. He also uses light and shadowing in the image with a lot of perspective, which are more characteristics of Renaissance art.

Private life

In 1525 he married the love of his life, Cecilla but she died 5 years later.

Titian and Cecilia had three children, Pompeo, Orazio and Lavinia. (All names of famous figures in ancient Rome)

Later known as the greatest artist of the sixteenth century.
