Why are two-year colleges important?

• ~1100 two-year colleges in the US

• 44% of all U.S. undergraduates attend 2YCs.1

• Of all undergraduate students, 54% of Native Americans, 51% of Hispanics, 45% of Asian/Pacific Islanders, and 44% of Blacks attend 2YCs.1

• At some 4YCs, >50% of geoscience majors are transfer students from 2YCs
