Los adjetivos son palabras que nombran o

indican cualidades, rasgos y propiedades de

los nombres a los que acompañan.

SUPERLATIVE ADJECTIVES

El adjetivo superlativo se utiliza para destacar

entre cosas, personas, lugares, etc. Por

ejemplo: “el más alto de la clase”

Spain is a large country.

Brazil is larger than Spain.

Russia is THE LARGEST country in the world.

Form:

•Siempre va precedido de “THE”:

He is the tallest.

She is the shortest.

•Si el adjetivo tiene una sílaba, se le añade EST:

He is the strongest.

Alonso is the fastest.

•Si el adjetivo tiene una vocal + una consonante, se le dobla la consonante y se añade EST:

It is the saddest chickin the world.

•Si el adjetivo tiene una o dos sílabas y termina en “y”, ésta se elimina y se pone IES:

•Si el adjetivo tiene dos o más sílabas se utiliza THE MOST delante del adjetivo:

The most dangerous road in the world.
