Addressing the gap.• Finishing School may be set up in 5 regions by
providing latest technology for out going trainees to equip themselves trained in the new machineries on par with Industrial needs under PPP mode.
• Training in latest machines /methodology need to be given to the Trainees as well as Instructors in consultation with IMC/local Industries by in plant / in-service training.
• Seminar programmes/motivation have to be arranged periodically by Guest lecturers.
• Periodical checking should be made in workshop.
State level mission for skill development
• A State Skill Development Mission has been set up in the State under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister with the Hon’ble Labour Minister as Vice-Chairman and Secretaries of various Departments as Members.
• First Meeting of the State Level Mission for Skill Development was held on 15.3.2010 under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and various issues relating to Skill Development were discussed.
• As an outcome of the meeting, various departments imparting skill training have been addressed to send their action plan.
Tamil nadu academy of construction
• Government has decided in principle to set up an Academy for Construction and issued orders for establishing Tamil Nadu Academy of Construction under Public-Private Partnership mode to ensure a faster growth of skilled force in the construction sector.
• A site measuring about 25 acres has been identified in Chengelput within the ITI campus to establish Tamil Nadu Academy of Construction.
