MANIFESTOSummer 2012

Suitable for Business is a movement facilitated bystudents from Copenhagen, across universities, tobring humanism and business together. Theorganization was founded in 2011, and host a yearlyhumanistic case competition in the spring as it’s mainactivity.

This manifesto is written by the board of Suitable for Business, with the ambition to make it clear how we want to create a better future for students, academia, businesses and ultimately society.

To Suitable for Business, there is only one way to go. By putting the human at the center of all thoughts, ideas and activities, we create a more viable society and a better life for the individual. The future is in our hands as representatives of the next generation and today, we start shaping the future with Suitable for Business.

What was true yesterday is for up for discussion today. This manifesto gives the day of tomorrow a suitable direction.

This manifesto consists of 10 theses. Please keep in mind, however, that it is not about interpreting the world in various ways. The point is to change it.

#1 - a humanist

With Suitable for Business, we define a humanist as one who puts man and the human society at the center of thoughts and actions. /

#2 - humanistic business

With Suitable for Business, we define humanistic business as those that are built upon morality, empathy and a link to culture. Moreover, they continue to aspire for creative sollutions

#3 - no barriers

With Suitable for Business, we break down the barriers between humanistic students and the business world. Our aim is to enchance collaboration in an effort to build a more viable society.

#4 - profit & people

/With Suitable for Business, we make profits go hand in hand with people.

#5 - ideas with impact

With Suitable for Business, we prioritize ideas with a long term societal impact higher than short term financial gains. /

#6 - applied humanities

With Suitable for Business, we merge theory and practice in applied humanities. /

#7 - means for problem solving

/With Suitable for Business, we nurture both broad general competencies and unique disciplinary skills. Both are needed to solve problems in a hyper complex world.

#8 - solution-oriented education

With Suitable for Business, we have created an educational platform for solution-oriented case work. /

#9 - students of problems

With Suitable for Business, we come together as students facing problems. And problems may cut right across the borders of any discipline. /

#10 - new paradigm in value creation

With Suitable for Business, we challenge the way we work, organize and create value - catalyzing an inevitable paradigm shift./
