We hope that, as you start this new academic path, you feel accompanied in the new challenges awaiting you, so that you create bonds with a new community and with new practices.

Keep up the good work! ::GABINETE DE APOIO PSICO-PEDAGÓGICO AO ESTUDANTE (GAPE)::

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 10.30am to 12.30pm Tuesdays: 2pm to 4pm; Thursdays: 3pm to 6pm

GAPE (Gabinete de Apoio Psico-Pedagógico ao Estudante) contributes to the promotion of a successful academic trajectory, by sup-porting students in key moments of their aca-demic course in the FP.

GAPE provides students with guidance, from the moment they enter the Faculty, support-ing them during the registration process and organizing welcome activities, particularly Mentorship programs for national and foreign students, as well as workshops for the devel-opment of academic and/or psycho-social skills.

Throughout the students’ academic trajecto-ry, GAPE organizes different formative actions and activities aimed at promoting their psy-cho-social well-being and personal develop-ment, through clinical and psycho-educational counseling sessions. Specific informative ac-tions are also carried out by its team members in spaces used by students (for instance, by the Bar and Student Association), helping out in issues of their everyday lives. In certain cas-es, GAPE also offers students a clinical service of individual or group counseling.

GAPE also promotes contact with the commu-nity in order to promote proximity between students and community life, through several activities in the field of volunteering.

In the last stage of the course, GAPE follows the process of professional integration of graduates, through specific training actions and through the promotion of various activi-ties, such as group meetings and sharing ex-periences with professionals from different fields of Psychology.

GAPE works in two different spaces:

• The Reception Space at the entrance of the Bar, next to the bookshop.

• Working and individual appointment spaces next to classroom 16.

For more information see the FP site, send an email to gape@fpie.ul.pt or go to the Recep-tion Space.
