Counter for the Collections Archdiocesan policy is thateach parish should have a team of parishioners who willcount the collection each week on Monday mornings. St. John’s Altar Servers We are in need of someone whocould take on the task of scheduling our altar servers at St.John’s. If you are interested, please contact Father Palatucci.
Eligibility to be a Godparent/Sponsor for either Baptismor Confirmation.1. A baptized Catholic, have been Confirmed and
received First Holy Communion,2. 14 years of age or older (Archdiocese of N Y only),3. Attend to Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation,4. Attend to Catholic duty by participating in the
Sacrament of Reconciliation and receive the Eucharistat least once a year during the Easter season,
5. In a recognized Catholic marriage, that is, married inthe Catholic Church, or received proper canonicaldispensation to enter marriage with a non-Catholic,
6. If single, not co-habitating with a person who is not aspouse,
7. Registered member of a parish church,8. Not a parent to the candidate who will receive the
sacrament,. 9. Not bound by any canonical penalty legitimately
imposed or declared, and 10. Fully understand and accept the obligations of a
godparent/sponsor, to lead a life of faith and to pray forand to assist my Godchild/Sponsored candidate inhis/her spiritual growth.

Helping our Neighbors the boxes for food will remain inboth Duff Hall and the Moriarty Center. In addition to food,we will also be collecting personal care products that will bedistributed to both the Resource Center and the Center ofCompassion.
St. John’s Giving Tree The Catholic Daughters inpartnership with Catholic Charities have our annual "GivingTree" set up at the entrance to the church beginningNovember 19th until December 10th . Please select anornament from the tree that will specify a gift for a child oradult in need. Please return your gift "unwrapped" andplace under the tree by Sunday, December 10th. Thank you.
The Giving Tree at St. Charles has been in existence forover 25 years in our community. Each year the generosityof the parishioners has been truly overwhelming. The treewill go up on Saturday, November 25th. Please take anangel and purchase the gift/gifts. Return the angel affixedto the wrapped gift or gift bag by December 17th . The First Christmas…a ChristmasNovena for Children. This is a busy time of year, but asfamilies, it is important to make time toshow our children the true meaning ofChristmas. We’ll meet every afternoonfor 9 days to prepare to welcome Jesusinto our hearts and lives in a very special way. We’ll startin the church with a special reading, song & prayer to Jesusand then we’ll finish in the center creating one piece of ourown Christmas Nativity to take home to celebrate Jesus’birthday. Each child will need a shoe box for this program.Our final session will include a birthday celebrationespecially for Jesus!
