Pre-K (ages 3 - 5)
Fairytale Theatre
In this class we will learn all about fairytales! How are char-acters created? What makes a fairytale entertaining? What makes a fairytale timeless? How are historical fairytales different from modern ones? Once we answer these ques-tions, students will create their own fairytales and bring them to life on stage! At the end of the course, we will in-vite our families and friends to come see our amazing play!

FABLE FACTORY
How do you think the tortoise felt after winning the big race? Or the mouse when he woke the lion up? Using Aesop’s fables and creative play, students will learn basic acting skills and explore different characters. They will also work on their creativity and writing when they create their own original fables! Class culminates in a shared performance of their original work.

ACTOR’S TOOLBOX
Body, voice, imagination, concentration, collaboration. These are the tools in the actor’s toolbox and exactly the skills we will be working on in this class. Students will explore improvisation, pantomime, creating characters, and how to dissect and perform a scene. This class is great for the absolute beginner as well as those experienced students who want to further explore their craft! in a shared performance of their original work.

SCENE STUDY
This class is for the seasoned actor and the enthusiastic beginner. Students will be assigned scenes from published plays to work on with other students. In the class we will learn how to break down a scene into beats, identify objectives and tactics, and how to effectively use blocking to tell the story of the scene. Class will culminate in a scene share for invited friends and families.

Limited EngagementAt some point in your theatre career you will be cast in a reading or work-shop, so get your feet wet here! In this class we will rehearse a full musical for just a few short weeks, and end in an invited workshop performance of the show with scripts in hand. No sets, no costumes. The challenge in this work is finding a way to bring the same energy, enthusiasm and focus that you would for a full production. Class culminates in an invited reading.
