Samuel Hazo
• Has composed for professional, public, and
university levels
• Writes original scores for television, radio, and stage
• In 2003, became the first composer to be awarded
the winner of both composition contests sponsored
by the National Band Association
• In 2004, his compositions were listed in a public
national survey of the “Top Twenty Compositions of
All Time” for wind band
