Being to communicate effectively is perhaps the most important of life skills. It is what
enables us to pass information to other people, and to understand what is said to us.
Communication, at its simplest, is the act of transferring information from one place to
another. It may be vocally (using voice), written (using printed or digital media such as
books, magazines, websites or emails), visually (using logos, maps, charts or graphs) or
non-verbally (using body language, gestures and the tone and pitch of voice).
In practice, it is often a combination of several of these.
Importance of Good Communication Skills:
Developing communication skills can help all aspects of life, from professional life to
social gatherings and everything in between.
The ability to communicate information accurately, clearly and as intended, is a vital life
skill and something that should not be overlooked.
Self Study Report (SSR) Cycle 1, Year: 2020
Professionally, if applying for jobs or looking for a promotion with current
employer, it is almost certainly needed to demonstrate good communication
skills.
In personal life, good communication skills can improve personal relationships by
helping to understand others, and to be understood.
Communication skills can also ensure that interactions with businesses and
organizations are being managed.

Self Study Report (SSR) Cycle 1, Year: 2020
DISCUSSION:
The SEMINAR on CAREER OPTIONS started from 10:30 am and continued till 1:30 pm.
Dr. Shifu Verma discussed various suitable fields which students can opt as a career.
Firstly she interacted with the students and asks about their future career plans. The
students keenly answered all her questions. Then she gave knowledge about the
various exams clearing which helps students to study abroad. These exams include
IELTS, TOFEL, PTE etc. A necessary focus was made on the presentation skills of the
students and English being the most important tool for an effective communication. She
further briefed about her institute to accomplish higher goals of education or working
abroad is a challenge which only SSDN Global can solve with its very specific and one to
one career counselling, research and profiling according to each and every aspirant.
Because they strongly believe that every individual is unique and have their own vision
and future goals. She makes sure that aspirant is free from the limitations like: ongoing
job, no good educational institution within reach, expensive higher qualifications, etc.
This pedagogy of super-specialized training gives the aspirants an exhaustive idea of
what skills & knowledge is actually required by the International Universities and
Colleges in CANADA, AUSTRALIA, USA, FRANCE, GERMENY, NEW ZEALAND, IRELAND,
ITALY etc. and thus makes the aspirants ready from the day 1 of their bright career.
She deeply analyses aspiration of students and, they are given an opportunity to choose
and decide the particular set of profiles under a chosen domain. This makes the task of
a trainer easy as now they have the clear understanding of each individual student’s
aspiration and the required knowledge or set of skills to be developed. She also
discussed about taking part in English debates, Group discussions, reading newspaper
which will give a wider approach for effective communication. International Education
Services are giving scholarships to students who really excelled in their soft skills and
clear exams like IELTS. The key to success is to present and share your knowledge
Self Study Report (SSR) Cycle 1, Year: 2020
effectively in front of other people. Two-way communication is very important in
technical education. Effective communication is a process of exchanging ideas,
thoughts, knowledge and information such that the purpose or intention is fulfilled in
the best possible manner.
In simple words, it is nothing but the presentation of views by the sender in a way best
understood by the receiver. The Five C's of Effective Communications include Clarity,
Consistency, Creativity, Content, and Connections. If you simply include these qualities
of communications in your daily life, your business and personal relations will improve.
Further discussed the benefits of good communication
1. Team Building. When teams effectively communicate, information flows freely from
side to side and top to bottom.
2. Employee Morale.
3. Increases Customer Satisfaction.
4. Increases Productivity.
Workplace communication is very important to companies because it allows companies
to be productive and operate effectively. Employees can experience an increase in
morale, productivity and commitment if they are able to communicate up and down
the communication chain in an organization.
Everyone wants to improve upon the Spoken English skills as it has become a necessity
in this day and age. Your search for an institute that can provide excellent training in
Spoken English has ended at the right place. Students who desire to study abroad or
settle there cannot ignore the fact that Spoken English skills are the backbone of
studying abroad. To be successful you must possess good communication skill in
English. If you lack spoken English skills, then your chances of working or studying in a
Self Study Report (SSR) Cycle 1, Year: 2020
foreign land becomes dim and you in spite of having a good experience would lose the
opportunity. Basic knowledge is given to the students who know English but it is
difficult to write & speak for them. They have less knowledge of grammar and cannot
form correct sentences. Vocabulary is also poor of such students. We help these
students learning accurate grammar, develop their vocabulary & reading skills and
improve conversation & pronunciation.
OUTCOMES
The seminar was very successfully delivered and foster in students the new options
which they can opt to pursue a suitable career. Such kinds of lectures are very useful as
they enhance the student’s knowledge on different platforms. The students along with
their subjective knowledge also get an exposure of the practical world and how they
need to prepare themselves to survive in the practical world. As the level of competition
is increasing day by day, it is very important for students to excel in specific domains to
be successful.
