introduction

This booklet is a presentation of a shelter design located near a small village in Frisian called De Wilgen. This Abri-project is a master design-course given at the faculty of Architecture in Delft. The design of the shelter is aimed at the integration of construction, design, materialisation and detail. The design is presented in a 1 to 50 scale model along with this booklet. My thanks go to my tutor Bernard Olsthoorn who guided me through this assignment and Erik Dral who assisted me with the production of this booklet.

The frisian landscape is characterized by its flat fields divided by ditches. Beautiful in every time of the year.

In the Smalle Ee area some nice curved paths are laid for pedestrians en cyclists. Ideal for walking the dog or do some running.

At the end of a path, with a nice view over the Smalle Eesterzanding, the location of the shelter is chosen.
