2. Consumer Product Safety Commission
- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is charged with
protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or
death from thousands of types of consumer products under the
agency's jurisdiction. The CPSC is committed to protecting
consumers and families from products that pose a fire, electrical,
chemical, or mechanical hazard or can injure children. The CPSC's
work to ensure the safety of consumer products - such as toys,
cribs, power tools, cigarette lighters, and household chemicals -
contributed significantly to the 30 percent decline in the rate of
deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past
30 years.
3. Food and Drug Administration
- The FDA is responsible for protecting the public health by
assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary
drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nations food
supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation. The FDA is
also responsible for advancing the public health by helping to
speed innovations that make medicines and foods more effective,
safer, and more affordable; and helping the public get the
accurate, science-based information they need to use medicines and
foods to improve their health.
4. Department of Transportation

vital national interests and enhances the quality of life of the
American people, today and into the future.
5. Environmental Protection Agency
- EPA leads the nation's environmental science, research,
education and assessment efforts. The mission of the Environmental
Protection Agency is to protect human health and the environment.
Since 1970, EPA has been working for a cleaner, healthier
environment for the American people.
6. Federal Trade Commission
- The FTC deals with issues that touch the economic life of every
American. It is the only federal agency with both consumer
protection and competition jurisdiction in broad sectors of the
economy. The FTC pursues vigorous and effective law enforcement;
advances consumers interests by sharing its expertise with federal
and state legislatures and U.S. and international government
agencies; develops policy and research tools through hearings,
workshops, and conferences; and creates practical and
plain-language educational programs for consumers and businesses in
a global marketplace with constantly changing technologies.
7. Attorney General
- To enforce the law and defend the interests of the United
States according to the law; to ensure public safety against
threats foreign and domestic; to provide federal leadership in
preventing and controlling crime; to seek just punishment for those
guilty of unlawful behavior; and to ensure fair and impartial
administration of justice for all Americans.
8. Better Business Bureau
- BBBs mission is to be the leader in advancing marketplace
