CAUSE• THE HUMAN BODY IS FORMED BY CELLS THT CONTAIN A

CENTRAL PART CALLED NUCLEUS. THE NUCLEUS OF CELLS CONTAIN 23 PAIRS OF CROMOSOMES. SOMETIMES THERE IS ONE MORE CROMOSOMS IN THE PAIR 21, SO THERE ARE THREE, WHICH PRODUCES DOWN SYNDROME.

TREATMENT

• Down syndrome is not a disease and therefore does not require medical treatment. The health of children with trisomy 21 need not differ from that of any other child. Many children are perfectly Healthy, that is, they do not present any disease. they

WHAT IT AFFECTS ( PHYSICAL )

• A flattened face, especially the bridge of the nose

• Almond-shaped eyes that slant up

• A short neck

• Small ears

• A tongue that tends to stick out of the mouth

• Tiny white spots on the iris (colored part) of the eye

• Small hands and feet• A single line across the palm

of the hand (palmar crease)• Small pinky fingers that

sometimes curve toward the thumb

• Poor muscle tone or loose joints

• Shorter in height as children and adults

Chromosomes are rod / string structures found in the nucleus of the cell. Chromosomes contain genes made up of DNA.Thus, our hereditary information is located on the chromosomes. Normal human cells (embryos, fetuses, children or adults) contain 46 chromosomes or 23 pairs of chromosomes.hreceived 23 cromosoms from each

parent through their germ cells (sperm or oocytes).
