What is Units of Sound?
Units of Sound is a structured, multi sensory,phonological programme developing word,sentence and text level skills.
Learner managed, suitable for home andclassroom, the software can be supported bytrained, supervised non specialists or be part ofa specialist teachers toolkit.
Independent reading and spelling assessmentplaces students appropriately across learninglevels from basic literacy to university andbeyond.

It is suitable for most adults andchildren with levels of reading and
spelling above cvc. Learners with lower levels skills
would need to begin with ActiveLiteracy Kit.

The Three Stages
Stage 1- from cvc words
Stage 2 - from blends and
