THIS pamphlet is a revision and expansion of thepublication of the same name that was first pub-
lished by the National Council of Teachers ofMathematics in 1959. Extensive changes in elemen-tary and secondary mathematics curricula, togetherwith the publication of new material, have neces-sitated this expansion and updating.
As before, no attempt has been made to includetests that accompany textbooks. With this exception, however, the current list, derived from two inde-pendent surveys of publishers, is intended to be acomprehensive presentation of mathematics testsavailable in the United States when this pamphletwas prepared. (Errors or omissions should bebrought to the attention of the authors for correc-tion or inclusion in future revisions.)
Needless to say, the listing of a test does not, initself, constitute an endorsement by the NationalCouncil of Teachers of Mathematics. Teachers andsupervisors who are interested in any particular testshould examine a .specimen copy and judge the ap-propriateness of the instrument in the light of theparticular use intended. The nature of the local cur-riculum should, of course, be taken into account.
Further information on the selection and use oftests is available in the references cited in the finalsection of this pamphlet.
Included in these references are the six volumesof the "Mental Measurements Yearbook," a seriesconstituting the major reference work on tests. Toassist teachers in locating the review or entry of atest in this series, the following list includes, im-mediately below the publisher's name, a Romannumeral identifying the volume and an Arabic nu-meral identifying the entry (not the page). UnderAmerican School Arithmetic Batteries, for example,"VI, 605" is given after the name of the publisher. This means that a review or a reference is found inthe sixth yearbook under entry number 605. Anotherreference work is Tests in Print, which is sometimes

included here in place of, or in addition to, theyearbook series. Mention of this title is followed bya page number only.
Information for each test is given in the followingorder:
