Diver needs to coordinate leg and arm movement to control direction and to mind collisions with sea life.

Diver needs to constantly keep in view the time, depth and remaining oxygen.

Social Benefits

• By joining a scuba diving class or club you always get to know new people from all over the World.

• With the people you are involved new friendships arise and you might consequently be presented with more career options.

Enhances communication skills and trust building (Buddy System)

• For safety reasons you should always dive with a “Buddy” who stays near by at all times

• Although you might not know your Buddy well, you need to be able to trust and look after each other while diving.

• You will have to pay close attention to your Buddy’s hand signals under water.

Managing to keep calm in what the brain perceives is a life threatening situation is an good training that you can take back to your job and daily business.

In a situation like this it is very important to stay calm and to take your time to objectively think your way through this stressful situation.

Occasionally Divers experience moments of disorientation as a result of strong currents, rough seas or darkness.

Enhances Ability to Cope with Uncomfortable and Stressful Situations

Personal Skill-BuildingEnhances Environmental Awareness

• Diving makes me appreciate the Ocean and its fragile underwater habitats even more.

Relieves Stress

• Generally diving leads to lower stress levels as a result of reduced sensory input (think: sounds are quieter, motions are slower, etc.)

• While diving you should breathe in and out slowly in a controlled manner which also improves your circulatory and respiratory system.

• Personally diving helps me to tune out, which makes it a great hobby to keep your work life balance right.

Skill Building

As you progress from basic to advanced training, divers can participate in a variety of specialty course:

• Night Dives

• Fish Identification

• Search and rescue techniques
