POEM 1
Once a fairy charmed a demon he wanted her with him she did not his desperate eagerness was shunned he never knew how to control himself nor did he thought it was needed for he thought she was to be grateful as a mighty demon was in love with her. He harrowed and bothered her to no end but she stayed just the way she was! First she ignored and then she grew cold, once her friends asked her if she will ever regret for not giving in to him for he will not let her live a life of peace and love, he will stalk her forever the fairy told her friends their paths are never to merge, compromise to evil for any reason opens door to hell. 25.05.09, Garia, Kolkata

POEM 2
Can you say sorry after killing someone? Can you restore a person’s reputation after ruining? Will it really matter at all if you apologize? Or curse yourself, hate yourself, punish yourself? No! So control that tiny beast caged behind teeth, Control that fire in brain that provokes you to take up the garb of judge or play God. A thing done can rarely be undone, so don’t do that! 20.08.09, Garia, Kolkata https://www.createspace.com/5439616 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WNZ63Z6

POEM 5
I dreamt a strange dream About a really strange land Where lived a demon With ever changing form. One moment it was saintly Speaking only of God Next moment it was evil Showing the way to hell. One form will coax you The other will lure you Third will reprimand you Fourth will goad you. Mocking, taunting, scaring Hatred, lust and anger Twirled in its forms Like colours in printer’s bowl. Few moments of patience Will show you the truth Just like painter’s water Twirling ended in one colour-black! 6.11.09, Garia, Kolkata https://www.createspace.com/5561469 https://www.amazon.com/dp/b0105jdvh4

POEM 6
When every light leaves earth, you shine alone with love, Sun goes to bed, tired and weary you shine in the sky in silver glory. The beautiful messenger of God to let us know every second one of Her angel is always there, to guide us home from wherever we are. 23.06.09, Garia, Kolkata https://www.createspace.com/5441113 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WTXA11O

POEM 8
Go ahead and preach But don’t try to teach “Me” Who is bad! Who is good! I am that invisible being Who has been studying! Your ways for decades How you flip and flop Then take a 180 degree turn How you change colours (Read it as statements) From white to red to green “Please!” Spare me! I am not a fool! http://www.createspace.com/5184909 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RF97HXW

POEM 9
From the very depth of our hearts We know God is never angry with us Or unkind. There is only one feeling in Her heart For us, her children And that is love, or compassion She can never hate us. But like a good mother she guides us, Shows us only the way, Allows us to experiment and then Bear the consequences. Sometimes others meddle with our paths, She then rebukes them, But waits for us to get up and walk again On our own! POEM 10
They can teach us a thing or two About selfless love. They give away almost everything To bring them up. Then they grow up And abandon the nest They never even look back For parents who gave them so much. Maybe, it is true That we are human Just because we do have feelings Like gratitude and dutifulness. But, sometimes we demand Things we should not, If we actually had half their love, In our hearts for our offsprings. Review: When The Clouds Dance
Proverbial without being preachy, this collection is easy to read and is one that you can dip in and out of. I found the poems refreshing and inspiring. The poetry style is simple without being simplistic. Each poem evokes a reaction in the reader. The overall feel of the collection is positive and up-lifting. The poet explores many themes and the one that interested me in particular was her definition of God which fluctuated between a male and female deity. Some poems almost read as proverbs, but not ones handed down through culture or belief. Instead, these proverbial conclusions seemed to me to come from the poet’s experience in life. A book of delights to be returned to again and again. https://dragonscaleclippings.wordpress.com/2016/12/06/review-when-the-clouds-dance/ © Freya Pickard 2016
