Introduction:

TheNewHollanddiscmowersareveryversatile.Anyoperatorcanusethesediscmowersformowing fields, roadsides, around ponds, and around buildings. The disc mowers are available in a varietyofsizes,andnowapull-typediscmowerisavailable.HerearetheHPrequirementsforthediscmowermodels:

TheNewHollandH6700SeriesDiscMowershaveabreakawaylatchlocatedonthehitchandframemount.Thelatchwillbreakaway,upto19degrees,ifthemowercomesincontactwithanimmovableobject.Ifthecutterbardoesbreakaway,theoperatorsimplyreversesthetractorandmowerandthelatchautomaticallyre-engages.

TheH6830headerissuspendedfromthemainframeofthemachine.Theheaderhasboth vertical and lateral flotation to help avoid damage from obstacles in field. Header flotation is controlled by large flotation springs to ensure quick header response. In addition, the flotation springsareeasilyadjustedbyturningtheanchor bolt. This system provides flotation for thecutterbartoavoiddamageandbulldozing.Whensetproperly,theheadwilljuststayonthegroundtoprovideevencuttingindepressionsoruneventerrain.

Additionally,theH6700modelsareequippedwith a flotation spring which takes weight off of thecutterbarandallowseasierverticalcutterbarmovementwhenarockorotherobstructionsareencountered.

TheH6830comesstandardwitha540rpmPTOdrive,withapivoting80degreeConstantVelocity(CV)primaryPTOshaft.Theconstantvelocityuniversaljointprovidessmooth,quietoperationwithoutdrivelinenoiseorvibrationwhenmakingtightturns.Theshaftisalsoequippedwithaslipandover-runningclutchfortractordrivelineprotection.Ifthecutterbarcomesintocontactwithsomething,theclutchwillslip,whichhelpstoprotectthetractorPTOsystemandthediscmower.ThesecondaryPTOhasastandarduniversaljoint(shownatright.)AnoptionalsecondaryshaftwithaCVjointisavailablethroughserviceparts.Orderpart#87748399.Thisoptionalshaftallowsoperationinthetransportpositionwhichenablestheoperatorto“steer”theunitaroundobstaclesin the field.

Cutterbar:

Thecutterbaronallofthediscmowermodels(noteconomymodels)haveindividualgearmoduleswhichhaveasealedoilbathforalltheinternalparts.Themodulesalsohaveadipstickanda50hourrecommendedoilcheck.Thereisamanditory200hourorseasonaloilreplacementforthegearoilinthemodules.Themodulesonlytake10oz.ofgearoil,makingitreasonabletochangeinthemodules.

TheH6730hasacuttingwidthof6’8”witha5-discmodularcutterbar.TheH6740hasa7’10”cuttingwidthwitha6-discmodularcutterbar.TheH6750hasacuttingwidthof9’2”andhasa7-discmodularcutterbar.

TheMowMax™truemodularcutterbarwithShockPRO™dischubsisthelatestadvanceinmodularcutterbartechnol-ogy.Eachdiscmoduleisanindividuallysealedgearcasewithadedicatedoilreservoir.Evenwhencuttingonslopes,there’sneveranoilstarvationissue.Thegearsstayfullylubricatedandworkreliably.

Ifaninternalcomponenteverfails,there’snochancethatabrokenpiececancirculateintheoilbathanddamageothermodules.And,eachgearcaseisconnectedwithindependent,hardenedalloydriveshafts,notafull-widthdriveshaftthatcantwistorshear.Whenroutinemaintenanceisrequired,it’sfastandinexpensive.Externalstructuraldamagecanberepairedbyjustreplacingmodulesegments.

Discs spin at 3000 rpm producing a knife tip speed of 187 mph to slice through dense, wet crops, fire ant hills or gopher mounds.

Two cutting edges on each knife provide for twice the cutting life. You can flip or replace knives easily from the front of thecutterbar.Eachknifeisretainedwithonlyonebolt,andthere’snorequirementtoraisetheheaderorreachfromthebackofthecutterbartoaccesstheknifebolts.

ShockPROdischubsprotecttheentirecutterbardriveline,minimizingdowntimeandrepaircostsifaforeignobjectishitin the field. The economical, ShockPRO hubs absorb the shock of the impact before damage to expensive drive compo-nents can occur. ShockPRO hubs can easily be replaced in the field, in under 7 minutes, at minimal cost.

Sales InformationTransport:TheH6700seriesDiscMowersareeasilyputintothetransportmode.Theoperatorusestheremotehydraulicheadertooperatetheliftcylinderandthecutterbarwillrise.Oncethecutterbarisraisedtotransport,alockwillengage.Todisengagethelock,simplypullthelockcordandcutterbarwillreleaseanditcanbeloweredhydraulically.

TheH6830DiscMowertongueisadjustablefor transport and field operation purposes only whentractorPTOisnotengaged.Thetongueisequippedwithacylinderlockoutvalve.Thiscylinderlockwillkeepthetonguefromswingingduring transport or field operation. The transport widthoftheH6830is10’10”.

TheH6830isequippedwithheaderliftlocks.Theselockscanbeeasilyengagedordisengagedbysimplymovingthehydrauliclever.Bymovingthehandle,theoilsupplytothecylinderisshutdownandnooilmovementthroughthecylinderisallowed.
